Description

Created on April 15, 2000, the Park aims to protect the genetic heritage of the region's native flora and fauna, spring areas and aquifer recharge, providing activities for environmental education , cultural and leisure, aiming the development of ecological research.

The park has a good structure, with hiking trails, several volleyball and football pitches, Nature School, and a forest police unit. It also has preserved forest with streams and two lakes and fruit trees, planted by former farmers who lived there. Exactly as planned, it's a green spot on the tall buildings scene.

On the banks of the Patos Lagoon you can see the buildings that, in the background, are part of the landscape of the Águas Claras Ecological Park. Nature and urbanization join together to ensure a better quality of life for the inhabitants of this administrative region of the Federal District. In addition to the ducks, which give the name to the Lagoon, it is possible to find capybaras, geese, toucans and well-teens that live among the ipês, ingás and many other fruit trees found in the 86 hectares of park area.

Administered by the Environmental and Water Resources Institute of the Federal District (Ibram), the Park hosts the Águas Claras Reference Center on Environmental Education, which carries out activities related to the environment directed to students of schools in the Federal District. In partnership with the Secretary of Education, the Gymnastics on the Quadras project offers attendees physical activities during the week.

Opening hours: Daily from 06h to 22h.
